Beautiful Twiggy
Twiggy is extreme in every way. Whether that is cuddling and loving you, playing, wrestling, playfighting, or just exploring the house, she gives everything 110%. This firecracker will have you melting into a puddle with her sweetness, cracking up laughing at her antics, and scratching your head at her boundless energy, all within a 5-minute period. One thing is for sure: life is never boring with Twiggy around!
Twiggy was found as a tiny kitten wandering alone around a caravan park in Broome. She was taken to the pound, where she became quite unwell and struggled to put on weight. Luckily, she was taken in by a lovely local vet nurse, who brought her back to health and flew her down to Perth to come into foster care and find her forever home. She is still quite small for her age, and is likely to always be a smaller cat as she grows.
She is one of the most loving, snuggly cats that her foster carer has ever had. Her favourite place to be is sprawled out on your lap, lying across your neck like a scarf, pancaked across your chest, or snuggled in against you in bed, purring herself blissfully to sleep. She loves to be the centre of attention and be close to you. She doesn’t like being picked up, but as soon as you sit down or lie down, she will jump up and make herself comfy. She loves to give you little licks on your hands or face to really let you know how much she appreciates you.
On the other hand, when Twiggy is not in a playful, cheeky mood, she definitely does not hold back! When she wants to wrestle and chase, it is ON! Twiggy is still learning to play gently, so she will sometimes accidentally bite and scratch. She is learning to stop when told to, and will need an owner who will continue to set boundaries by giving a firm “no” and directing her energy away from fingers and back to her toys.
Twiggy loves all toys, and will give very dramatic performances wrestling, chasing, pouncing and playing with any toy she can get her hands on. She is excellent at entertaining herself and anyone else watching, throwing herself around like the toys are actually attacking her. Her confidence is amazing, and she will bravely meet and steal the hearts of any visitors or explore any new situation, always on the lookout for fun!
Other than getting occasionally carried away with playing rough, Twiggy is extremely well-behaved. She uses her litter tray religiously, loves using her scratching post, and doesn’t scratch carpet or furniture. She is highly food motivated and loves to interact with people, so she is picking up target training brilliantly. She would be a great candidate for walking outside on a harness, or teaching agility and tricks.
Twiggy has only met one other animal in foster care, the resident 5-year-old adult cat. She is definitely interested in this cat, but is still learning how to make friends. Twiggy would likely do well with a slow and careful introduction to other cats or dogs, but they would need to be high-energy enough not to be annoyed by her racing around and playing all the time.
Twiggy is a special, loving little creature who is going to bring a whole lot of fun to a lucky household.
