Young Tilly
Tilly is a lovely little dog who has just turned 1. She is sweet tempered and very loving and will be the perfect companion once she has settled.
Currently she is living with two Standard Poodles and she gets along very well with them both. She LOVES to play “bitey face” and “chase me” with her foster siblings so she will need to go to a home with a male dog who is active and likes to play.
Tilly is very smart and very trainable. Since coming into care she has learned to wait quietly at the door before heading out for her walk, to sit and wait for her dinner and is working on mastering the down command. She also does an amazing Meerkat impression, but knows she must have 4 on the floor to receive treats or scratches.
She is crate trained and happily goes into her crate and sleeps quietly through the night. Tilly is housetrained and uses the dog door to take herself out to toilet or just to have a wander in the back yard.
Tilly walks reasonably well on the lead and only pulls occasionally. She loves her walks but she can be a bit barky when passing other dogs. She and her foster carer are working on both the pulling and barking.
Tilly does not shed and will need regular grooming to keep her silky soft coat in good condition. She stands quietly on the grooming table while being clipped and brushed and joojed.
Tilly will thrive in a calm household with older kids. A no cat home would be preferable. Because she is essentially still a puppy she has a tendency to bark when she is excited so slow, calm introductions to new things and people is the best approach.
If someone is home through the day she would be delighted. Once she has settled Tilly will gladly accompany you on a trip to any room… so you will never have to feel alone in the bathroom again. She will also very happily sit quietly on the couch with you and just chill.
