Darling Deirdre
Deirdre is the sweetest little soul who just wants to love and be loved. She is a clever, curious pup with a happy outlook on life and a heart full of affection. If you'll let her, she'll happily curl up on your lap or drape herself across you like a cat when you are sleeping, soaking up every cuddle she can get.
She greets people with pure joy- her tail never stops wagging, her whole body wiggles and she's generous with doggy kisses. In her excitement, she may bump you as she bounces in for cuddles, so she'd be happiest in a home with older children who can enjoy her playful, boisterous nature. She is learning to sit for pats when excited.
Deirdre would thrive in a home with another playful dog to romp around with. Having grown up with canine companions, she loves having a mate to chase, wrestle and burn off some of her puppy energy. She would be best matched with a confident male dog who enjoys that kind of play and is also happy to let her know when it's time to settle down for a rest. If she goes to a home without another dog, she will need more exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom. She enjoys dog puzzle toys and if you scatter some small treats around the backyard, she will amuse herself for hours making sure she sniffs out and finds each one. She loves going for walks and could make a good running buddy.
She has herding dog instincts and likes to get down low and stalk and chase things that move, like birds in the backyard. She needs a home without cats or other small animals.
Deirdre is fully house trained and mastered the dog door on her first day in her foster home.
